Festivities!

Yikes, I know I know, it has been a while since I have posted. SOOO, here is a little bit of what I have been up to lately. I know you've all been writhing with anticipation. Anyway, a few weeks ago my parents were invited to a Utah State basketball game. Because I am applying to Utah State I thought it would be really fun to go with and get a feel for the campus and the atmosphere. The basketball game was so much fun. Seriously I have never seen a more perfectly choreographed student section in my entire life. It looked so fun!! I found out in a couple of weeks if I got into the RN program up there. I'm not sure I should mention it on my blog in the event (that is very likely) I don't get nt....it's gonna be awkward to announce that I didn't get in lol. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Anywho, here are some pics!

Thanks poppa for the Utah State jacket. Heaven forbid I go to a game without Utah State paraphernalia :)

They stood the entire time!! All of them!

So like I said before the whole last section of school is OB and Peds. Our instructor gave us these really "life-like" babies to do assessents on. When class was over Corey and I decided to pile all of the babies onto a kid's desk in our class that we kind of like to give a hard time. We bonded with the babies.

Meriellen and I with our babies

So during lunch we thought it would be appropriate to try the burrito roll on Tana. We were laughing so hard cause lets be honest.....that looks weird

Chance is going to be a proud pappa!

His name was Kong. He had a twin brother in the class named King. Our instructors named them.

So I have been looking forward to this all year! I was so sad that I missed it last year. Its called the Holi Festival of Colors. There is this whole story about why they put this festival on. It may or may not have something to do with burning a witch so I'll just skip that part. But the festival is at the Holy Krishna temple in Spanish Fork. They tell the story of the festival, have some Indian dancers perform, and then do this big countdown and everyone throws different colors of chalk into the air. I was so glad that I had a bandana over my face when the whole thing happened. It was like a mushroom cloud of colors. It was so much fun! So what that my lungs are caked with scented indian chalk...I'm totally going back next year!

Pre-color madness

There were so many people!

Yeah she's in a wedding dress....

Simply Amazing! Shanti!

  1. I can't believe Dad bought you a Utah State jacket. He rarely buys anything. Right? Looks like you guys had a lot of fun with the babies. They really are life-like. For a minute I was like, "Wait, why is Jessica holding Kai?" The festival of colors. Regardless of the origin, you got some pretty cool pictures. Looks like fun. I can't imagine a better place to get married. Take me with you next year!

  3. I agree with Alecia. The babies do look a little creepy. I hope my baby that will be here in NOVEMBER doesn't look like that!!!!!!
